INTERVIEW: LARS ELLING

It’s Monday the 14th of March - one day before the big opening of "Oppenheimer's Garden' at Thomas William's Gallery at Old Bond Street in London. We are walking up the stairs to the first floor where Norwegian artist and playwright Lars Elling gives us a warm welcome and introduces us to the new gallery space and his amazing, large-scale paintings. It’s his first solo-show in London. Before we start recording, Lars checks his mobile phone – his second child could be born any minute. He seems remarkably balanced and open-minded; mentions American collectors, Moby Dick and Velazquez. He is an incredibly well read and pensive family guy, who loves secrets, jazz and books – and who tries to avoid clichés by all means, yet they keep on hunting him. You will find more photos and the interview by clicking on the headline, or one of the photos below.

INTERVIEW: DAVID OSTROWSKI

A creepily empty building at Mediapark in Cologne, modern glass-architecture, bored reception girls and hidden, yet just in between: David Ostrowski and his studio. A young, critical painter who owns many spray cans and a massive pile of his favourite art-magazines: The French 'Vogue' and the German 'Gala'. The modest and extremely humorous Cologne-born already had exhibitions in many places of world, from L.A. to Helsingor, but he rather prefers to romanticise his charming hometown at the river Rhine.

INTERVIEW: STEPHAN BOSSE AND EDUARDO BALANZA

Stephan and Eduardo, a german architect and a spanish artist, met randomly a couple of years ago. Now they are living and working together in Berlin-Kreuzberg, producing art objects out of cardboard. They are good friends and working partners. On first sight, their cosy maisonette flat seems to be a typical Berlin-flat share. But once I walked up the stairs to their studio and office room, their professional artistic collaboration became apparent. Both of them told me vividly about their past, present and future projects and their lifes in Berlin.
